A Jolly Asturias - A 10th position C7 solution
Thought I would upload this as it comes up a lot of the time!
Actually, I have just had another look at what John Williams is doing and have discovered that he doesn't finger the top E but plays it open and utilises a little two string hinge bar for the G and the C.
Very tidy and quick to do! I am used to what I do, like the sound of the top E and will probably continue playing it that way.
But certainly worth exploring if the version of the solution I have provided is not working for you as it saves the trouble of getting the 5 string barre on!
The 2nd finger is used as a guide to slide from the B flat to the G!
Sorry about the exceptionally poor sound but had to use my laptop mic as the webcam's could not handle the strummed chord!

A Jolly Long Stretch
A long stretch can be accommodated by applying an extreme bend of the left wrist towards the floor and away from the neck of the guitar.
The elbow will move naturally closer to your body and forward as required and the upper body will also need to adjust as demonstrated using this passage from Choro De Saudade by Barrios.
A way that you can develop your ability to stretch with the 1st and 4th fingers is by playing the Jolly No 1 but employing the 4th and 9th frets respectively.
IE While your 2nd, 3rd and 4th fingers remain on the 6th, 7th and 8th frets your 1st finger is playing on the 4th fret.
OR while your 1st, 2nd and 3rd fingers remain on the 5th, 6th and 7th frets your 4th finger is playing on the 9th fret.
And then try combining the two but beware you do not push to hard to early.
A Jolly Adelita - alt. fingering (sans ornaments)
This piece can sound just as wonderful without the ornaments at the beginning of the second section, so in response to a request from Hans W, an alternative fingering for this beautiful piece.

A Jolly 12 bars of Gavota Choro by Hector Villa-Lobos
This was made in response to a query by Kelvin regarding a solution for the tricky 15th bar.
A bit scratchy as I am just reading it.
A Jolly Bars 5-7 of Danza Brasilera for Grahamb
Bars 5-7 repeated twice, played slowly and with the rhythm counted out aloud.
I use a two in the bar feel for this rhythm and you should be able to hear that as I am giving the floor a good working over with my foot to accentuate that.
Ran out of breath too you might note! :D
A Jolly 12th and 13th bars Chopin Opus 28 No 7 for seosamh

A Jolly Bars 6 & 7 of Study No 17 by Leo Brouwer for johnkimble
John was having trouble sounding all the notes while playing the following bar which continued for a second bar exactly the same.

As this is an arpeggio piece the notes should be allowed to ring on and so for these two bars I leave on the 3rd finger that hammers on to the G at the 4th fret on the 4th string.
This may help you with maintaining the clarity of the other notes under the bar.
You may also note that even though only a 5 string barre is required I still use a 6 string barre

Pushing the poor old Yamaha to it's absolute limit and pick the wrong notes but enough nice moments to be worth uploading! Hopefully capturing some of the charm and tonal colour to show what is possible in this piece, one of many similar brilliant little intermediate level pieces that Tarrega composed.
